Functions of the Unit
The Legal Affairs Unit undertakes the following functions:
Providing legal advice in all areas related to the Ministry’s work, as needed.
Preparing, reviewing, and drafting contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding entered into by the Ministry, and providing legal advice regarding their implementation.
Preparing statements of defense and providing the Administrative Public Prosecution with all information, supporting evidence, and legal grounds related to lawsuits filed by or against the Ministry.
Participating in the preparation and drafting of legislation related to the Ministry and discussing such legislation with the relevant authorities.
Requesting interpretations of provisions of laws and regulations whose application is ambiguous or subject to differing opinions.
Performing any other functions assigned to the Unit within its scope of work.
