Secretary-General: Dr. Zaid Mohammad Al-Nawaiseh
A Royal Decree was issued on 13 December 2022 approving Cabinet Decision No. 9472, dated 20 November 2022, appointing Dr. Zaid Mohammad Hussein Al-Nawaiseh as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication at the minimum basic salary of Group Two of the Higher Category.
Message from the Secretary-General
The issuance of the Administrative Organization Bylaw of the Ministry of Government Communication No. 65 of 2022 marked a turning point and a significant shift in the vision for administrative modernization in the field of government communication. This was reflected not only in the establishment of the Ministry, the creation of its organizational structures, and the definition of its functions, but also in establishing new functions within government communication.
These functions are grounded in a broad understanding of communication based on the exchange of ideas, listening to views, establishing an approach founded on dialogue, encouraging the dissemination of accurate information, and combating rumors and misleading news.
The Ministry began its efforts by drafting the General Policy for Media and Government Communication, which established the general framework for this policy and positioned it as a key component of the Ministry’s areas of work. The draft was discussed with stakeholders and partners to reach an optimal formulation acceptable to all, providing a methodology for the communication process and a path governed by the highest standards applicable to that process.
Communication is based on a set of roles, the first and foremost of which is the media function, represented by the dissemination of information to raise awareness of activities and achievements. It also encompasses political, social, cultural, and other functions aimed at promoting national values, encouraging dialogue, raising awareness, combating rumors, and addressing crises.
The Ministry of Government Communication will work to its fullest extent of its capacity, and with the participation of all, to lay the foundations for a new qualitative phase in communication and outreach, guided by the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and supported by the Government’s efforts to implement these directives. This communication and outreach will be grounded in the values of credibility, engagement, clarity, and transparency.
