Pursuant to the Ministry’s Administrative Organization Bylaw, the Ministry of Government Communication provides technical support to media spokespersons in the various ministries and government departments, builds their capacities, and improves their performance to ensure a sustainable flow of information to media outlets and their continuous access to information from its sources.
The Ministry is also responsible for developing the functions of the Government Spokespersons Network and activating its role, thereby ensuring the presence of qualified spokespersons capable of responding to inquiries directed to their respective institutions, highlighting their institutions’ achievements, engaging with citizens, and strengthening communication channels among ministries, institutions, and media outlets.
Natiq Platform:
The Nateq Platform is an information network hosted on an internal electronic domain dedicated to Media Spokespersons in ministries and government institutions. It enables Media Spokespersons to communicate with the Ministry of Government Communication, exchange news and information, and provide media coverage of the various activities of their ministries and institutions.
The Platform aims to further activate the role of the Media Spokesperson and enhance the efficiency of information exchange, in support of media coordination and the unification of government media messaging.
The platform includes:
A digital repository containing press activities and events of ministries, institutions and government entities.
A further window containing contact information for licensed local, Arab and international media outlets.
Furthermore, the Platform’s future plan seeks to transform it into a smartphone application in order to facilitate its use by the Media Spokespersons Network.
